The chipset is supported, but the motherboard BIOS may turn the SMBus funct=
ion
off, as it does on my motherboard (sorry don't know the model right now).
There was a thread about this on -stable a few weeks ago, look for
the subject 'support of SMBus on ICH3' around August 12th.

FWIW, xmbmon's other modes also do not work on that mainboard, haven't tried
healthd.
