While I think this is a laudable goal, the lack of a solid JIT means
that FreeBSD will lack behind the other OS's (notably the M$ version) in
performance.

And soon to have an ELF version.  I've spent the last few days working
on it, and I hope to have the ELF version of JDK1 out by next week
sometime.

Then, it's onto JDK2. :)
