The result of the suggested command was:

    baru# camcontrol inq sa0
    pass1: <ARCHIVE Python 06408-XXX 8130> Removable Sequential Access

    pass1: Serial Number HJ06X68
    pass1: 20.000MB/s transfers (20.000MHz, offset 15)

Unfortunately, I don't know if that is what's expected or not.

As to /var/log/messages, the relevant messages are reproduced
