To be clear: I did not suggest moving to external toolchain (I hate to do
it myself). I was talking about merging the fix to base gcc4.2 (provided
that it can be licensed under GPLv2). Now that most people had lost their
interest in 8.x, it can be a problem of organizational nature, but not
technical.
