At least on 4.7-stable cvsup'd 10/18/02, patch-mi should not define ushort - it's defined in /usr/include/sys/types.h when _POSIX_SOURCE is not defined. Adjusting patch-mi to remove that line allowed me to build and install ImageMagick-5.5.1.1 with no further trouble.
