Simply set the property -Didea.no.jdk.check=true when invoking the JVM at startup, and IDEA does not perform its JVM check. (Thanks to JAD and a previous post to this list identifying com.intellij.idea.Main as the culprit class, and I guess to the IntelliJ guys for adding this in more recent versions). As to usage ... I'll let you know if I experience any problems which seem BSD'ish. I've duplicated this information on the IDEA community's Wiki, so hopefully it won't show up quite so frequently on this list. http://www.intellij.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IdeaOnFreeBsd By the way ... many, many thanks for the FreeBSD Java porting team ... your efforts are extremely important, and well-appreciated. regards, David Bullock
