Hello,

As you said, you might not remember having installed
security/freebsd-update, but that is where the one in /usr/local/bin
is coming from.

As from somewhere early in RELENG_6, it has become part of the base
system and the port can be removed. Just use "pkg_delete
/var/db/pkg/freebsd-update*/" and it all will be cleaned up.
