In /usr/ports/MOVED is this:

databases/postgresql72||2005-01-30|removed, 7.2 branch is retired

In your ports cvsup file do you have a line like this?

*default delete

You need it to remove old entries from /usr/ports

Finally, if you were to upgrade using /sysutils/portmanager
it would automatically remove the "removed ports" from your
system.
