The system is a 486dx/2-66, 32Mb of memory, 2 PCI Adaptec cards, 1 ISA (AHA1520), Std VGA. The first (ahc0) PCI AHA card has 6 drives on it. sd0 - st32550n (Seagate Hawk? 2Gb) sd1 - st15230n (Seagate Hawk 4Gb) sd2 - st12550n (Seagate baracuda 2Gb) sd3 - st42400n (Seagate Wren full-height 2Gb) sd4 - st43400n (Seagate Wren full-height 3Gb) sd5 - st41400n (Seagate Wren full-height 1Gb) The second controller (ahc1) currently is empty, and the ISA card (aic0) has a single 2Gb tape drive on it. I've have been experiencing uptimes anywhere from 3 days to 4 hours (not too good, eh?) I've enclosed all of the messages prior to each reboot (today!). By just the looks of the first two, I'd guess that sd2 was flaking out (it's well ventilated, I've heard the horror stories about Baracuda drives). But, the third appears to be related to sd3. After each there were some messages about syncing the disks and 'automagic reboot in 15 seconds...'. I'm almost at my wits end trying to solve this problem (and my Boss has suggested SCO, please save me!). Seriously, any help comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. --Jason Wright jason@oozoo.vnet.net Reboot #1: ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out sd2(ahc0:2:0): BUS DEVICE RESET message queued. ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #1. 3 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted panic: ahcintr: AWAITING_MSG for an SCB thatdoes not have a waiting message Reboot #2: ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out sd2(ahc0:2:0): BUS DEVICE RESET message queued. ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #3. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out sd2(ahc0:2:0): BUS DEVICE RESET message queued. ahc0: target 1, lun 0 (sd1) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 5, lun 0 (sd5) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 5, lun 0 (sd5) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 2, lun 0 (sd2) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted Reboot #3: ahc0: target 3, lun 0 (sd3) timed out sd3(ahc0:3:0): BUS DEVICE RESET message queued. ahc0: target 0, lun 0 (sd0) timed out sd0(ahc0:0:0): BUS DEVICE RESET message queued. ahc0: target 3, lun 0 (sd3) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #3. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 1, lun 0 (sd1) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 4, lun 0 (sd4) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 1, lun 0 (sd1) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 1, lun 0 (sd1) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted ahc0: target 1, lun 0 (sd1) timed out ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted
