Are you saying that you prefer to have GDM take you to the console instead of having to press ctrl-alt-F<number>? I agree - but for me that's a minor annoyance. The more major annoyance is that it seems to mess up my keyboard repeat-rate console settings when I switch back from GDM to console. --Y
