The current error is hard to track down, where as if there was a failure installing version XYZ of a package e.g. due to a conflict, it would be much more obvious to the EU as to what the actual issue was. Ideally a "make clean" followed by a "make" should never fail with such none descript error when its a dependency issue. PS: Nothing wrong with top posting as long as maintains the thread context, its often much easier to follow IMO.
