I will try to compile with less strict parameters.  For instance, -ansi and
-pedantic are a bit too strict, it seems.

By the way, this is exactly my intention, Kris.  To start patching the local
CVS repo copy I have in order to eventually have a RELENG_4 world that
compiles with BDE's flags :-)
