I found another way to confuse cvs into bringing back dead files:
`cvs update -DP', where `D' is a typo for `d'. `D date' sets the
date to update from, and -DP apparently sets the date to update
from to `P' which is interpreted as the current local time, less
25 hours, rounded down to the nearest hour (gak!). This brings
back 114 dead files in /usr/src.

Other weird dates:

	-D0	25+ hours ago
	-D1	24+ hours ago
	-D2	23+ hours ago
	...
	-DP	same as -D0
	-DQ	same as -D0
	-DPQ	unparseable

Bruce
