FreeBSD fails to locate the controller chip and returns a value of 0xff for the statement 'c = getb (sp, PCIC_ID_REV)' in the file pcic.c in the pccard directory. I believe the controller chip is a Cirrus Logic chip but I don't know what version. The statement failure described above causes FreeBSD to bypass scanning for PCMCIA cards.
