I am using a laptop computer manufactured by a company in 
Colorado Springs. FreeBSD fails to locate the controller chip and
returns a value of 0xff for the statement 'c = getb (sp, PCIC_ID_REV)'
in the file pcic.c in the pccard directory. 

I believe the controller chip is a Cirrus Logic chip but I don't know
what version. The statement failure described above causes FreeBSD to
bypass scanning for PCMCIA cards. The PCMCIA card I am using is an 
IBM/National Ethernet II Credit Card Adapter.

The problem is encountered when the system is configured to support 
PCMCIA support for the IBM Etherlink II Credit Card Adapter.
