Hi,

I'm running into a similar problem as described in

https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2014-August/079514.html

Using zfsnap (sysutils/zfsnap) when trying to backup some zfs zvols like
this:

/usr/local/sbin/zfSnap -s -z -a 90d -r zroot/data/bhyve

geom / zfs generates dmesg output like this:

g_dev_taste: make_dev_p() failed
(gp->name=zvol/zroot/data/bhyve/....@2016-11-19_09.05.00--90dp6, error=63)

Is anybody aware of any work being done to loosen this 63 char
limitation? Might somebody perhaps be able to share a more elegant
workaround than "rethink your zfs names" ?

Kind regards,

Ruben
