We've got one team of people who work mostly on ports. It would take some time to build that up. SuSE has a pretty good rpm based system called Yast. I've used it before a few years ago. Still, I would always run into situations where I'd update a package, which then needed later libraries, and I'd find that 20 other packages then wouldn't run. Rob.
