Perhaps only partly relevant, but; Hi all, I'm managing small site and is currently in the process of moving www/ftp from Linux to FBSD. As we already use ldap (NS Directory) it seemed like a good idea to use it for www and ftp authentication. I have successfully set up Apache with ldap but proftpd seems to be more difficult (I am not exactly a wizard here). I built proftpd from the FBSD ports tree with 'make -DWITH_LDAP' and it builds with no errors. However, when I start the daemon I get: Fatal: unknown configuration directive 'LDAPPrefix' on line 14 of '/usr/local/etc/proftpd.conf'. Fatal: unknown configuration directive 'LDAPPrefix' on line 14 of '/usr/local/etc/proftpd.conf'. Something is obviously wrong here. So my questions would be, 1. What is the procedure for building proftpd with ldap support on FBSD 2. Can I use NS slapd instead of OpenLDAP? It works fine with Apache.
