Gibbs" Cc: questions@FreeBSD.org In-Reply-To: <199503140208.SAA00954@estienne.cs.berkeley.edu> Message-Id: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: questions-owner@FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk I obtained the latest boot and cpio from the net and it works fine now. I am in the process of FTP-ing the new bindist from the net. I test installed four of the bindist.?? files from floppy and it looks like it is going to work. Installing from the 2.0 CDROM is not now possible. The install program wants to install from the directory /bin. The bindist on the CDROM is in the directory /bindist. I guess the CDROM is outdated anyway. My big problem now is that the DOS slice shows up on the e slice instead of the h slice as per the docs. I am unable to mount the msdos disk slice, which is not a show stopper, but will make installing from the floppy a necssity. :-(( Can I do anything to correct this? Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions, I work for an IAP and take calls all day and answer tons of support e-mail, so I know what is involved here. THANKS Joe
