This file usually likes in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/

> Starting mrtg_daemon.
> Daemonizing MRTG ...
> osiris# /bin/rateup: Permission denied

This file usually lives in /usr/local/bin/

> Rateup ERROR: Can't open 192.168.1.1_1.tmp for write

Is WorkDir pointing to a directory the mrtg user has write permission
for?
