It seems to treat ext3 as if it were ext2. I frequently mount, copy,=20
etc, simply using (in CURRENT) mount_ext2fs a Linux partition running
ext3.

(I've missed most of this thread, so it's probably been said, but you do
have to compile ext2fs support into the kernel)
