1) Restore from the backup you made.
2) Verify that everything you tell sysinstall is correct
3) Try again, using a clean freshly-ftp'd bootdisk from ftp.freebsd.org
4) If it still happens, resubmit this pr, excpet be sure to include
    pertinent information about your hardware, disks, and anything else.
