you may need to: 1. disklabel ccd0 2. newfs /dev/rccd0 3. mount /dev/ccd0 /mnt Neil Jensen Habanero Studios Ltd. Vancouver, Canada ---------- From: Jordyn A. Buchanan[SMTP:jordyn@bestweb.net] Sent: Monday, July 22, 1996 2:33 PM To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Subject: ccd - Inappropriate file type? I'm trying to get a ccd set up on several SCSI drives under FreeBSD 2.1.5-RELEASE. After compiling ccd support into the kernel and using MAKEDEV to create the appropriate /dev files, though, something seems to be wrong with the device files. I try this: # ccdconfig -c ccd0 16 none /dev/sd1c /dev/sd2c and get this back: ccdconfig: ioctl (CCDIOCSET): /dev/ccd0c: Inappropriate file type or format If anyone has thoughts on what might be causing this or (better yet) how to correct it, your help would be greatly appreciated.
