PGP::Sign can do GnuPG.  Most messages don't need the functions it provides.  If you were running a hierarchy, it can be used in place of pgpverify to sign newgroups, rmgroups and checkgroups.  Some moderators use the pgpmoose functions due to problems with approval forgery.
