I'm using iwiNG with FreeBSD 6.1-RC and it has the same
problem (with ether as well) if iwi0 is already running
and the firmware loaded.

Most of the time a few ifconfig iwi0 down/up runs get it
working again. Sometimes I have to reload the modules.

If all iwi0 settings are done with only one ifconfig call,
I don't see any problems.
