I just bought a new pair of headphones and plugged them into the same HDMI port on my monitor as I plugged the old pair into. The old pair works just fine (busted head band makes them impossible to wear/use). The new pair works fine for music only or voice only (no background noises at all) audio just fine but if it has music (or anything but vocals/lyrics)+vocals/lyrics the vocals/lyrics are at a bare audible volume.
