I just realized that the nabble link
(http://www.nabble.com/mount_smbfs-td3312376.html) in my last email was from
the netbsd mailing list and not the freebsd mailing list. Seems it was last
working on FreeBSD in the 5.2 days. Sorry for the confusion.

According to the 5.2 release notes
(http://www.freebsd.org/releases/5.2R/relnotes-sparc64.html) mount_smbfs was
working then. mount_portalfs, mount_nwfs, and mount_smbfs were moved from
/sbin to /usr/sbin. After that, I can't find information as to when it was
determined to not include it in freebsd-sparc64.

Best Regards,

Jason Cox
