In fact those errors comes from the EHCI driver, but the ports seems to be using the XHCI one. My guess is that the system try to attach both driver to the same device, s= ince the cpu does expose both interfaces (XHCI should be preferred, EHCI is expo= sed mainly for compatibility reasons) In order to check that I tried to force the XHCI mode in the BIOS, and this= =20 made those errors disappears (the problem here being that we can't access t= he BIOS from our customers), which seems to confirm my supposition. How do you think we could address the problem? --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Mon Jun 17 11:12:42 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 58B6C15B51EA for ; Mon, 17 Jun 2019 11:12:42 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from guru@unixarea.de) Received: from smh-06.1blu.de (smh-06.1blu.de [178.254.0.206]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 34BE58AEBC for ; Mon, 17 Jun 2019 11:12:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from guru@unixarea.de) Received: from [172.16.29.5] (helo=sh4-5.1blu.de) by smh-06.1blu.de with esmtp (Exim 4.86_2) (envelope-from ) id 1hcpYz-0004PT-8W for freebsd-usb@freebsd.org; Mon, 17 Jun 2019 13:12:37 +0200 Received: from ftp51246-2575596 by sh4-5.1blu.de with local (Exim 4.86_2) (envelope-from ) id 1hcpYz-0003po-5N for freebsd-usb@freebsd.org; Mon, 17 Jun 2019 13:12:37 +0200 Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2019 13:12:37 +0200 From: Matthias Apitz To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Subject: external USB disk spins off and mount gets destroyed Message-ID: <20190617111237.GA10000@sh4-5.1blu.de> Reply-To: Matthias Apitz Mail-Followup-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Operating-System: FreeBSD 12.0-CURRENT r314251 (amd64) X-message-flag: Mails containing HTML will not be read!
