this might be better suited to -questions, but while we're on the
subject...

I was inspired to look at wicontrol -C, and saw

[1/6]: 00:30:65:3a:2f:51, 64.71.143.228, sig: -85, noise: -101, qual: 16

this is a machine in a colo far, far away from me--is wi(4) just making up
signal strength values, or should I take that as the signal strength it's
getting from the AP?
