In case anyone is interested, I ported Vis5D version 4.2 to FreeBSD for a local professor. Vis5D is "a software system for visualizing data made by numerical weather models and similar sources". Vis5D base code is located at: ftp://iris.ssec.wisc.edu/pub/vis5d/vis5d-4.2.tar.Z the optional sample data is located at: ftp://iris.ssec.wisc.edu/pub/vis5d/vis5d-data.tar.Z The port is simple changes to the Makefiles. and is located at ftp://joy.cs.ndsu.nodak.edu/pub/vis5d-4.2-freebsd.diff I sent a copy of the files to the author. If a person is going to install Vis5D, then data files in src/vis5d.h should be changed to /usr/local/lib/vis5d/... like the README says. --mark.
