I'm afraid I have a problem with another one of those USB CompactFlash readers. It's a Datafab KECF-USBG. I believe that I have my kernel set up correctly (-Stable as of yesterday). When I insert the reader, I get the following: umass0: USB Mass Storage, rev 1.10/1.13, addr2 umass0: Get Max Lun not supported (STALLED) umass0: BBB reset failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB Bulk-in clear stall failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB Bulk-out clear stall failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB reset failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB Bulk-in clear stall failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB Bulk-out clear stall failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB reset failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB Bulk-in clear stall failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB Bulk-out clear stall failed, IOERROR umass0: BBB reset failed, IOERROR umass0: at uhub0 port 1 (addr 2) disconnected umass0: detached Fatal Trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0xdeadc0f2 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc0287632 stack pointer = 0x10:0x0c34c6f8 frame pointer = 0x10:0xc034c70c code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = Idle interrupt mask = bio kernel: type 12 trap, code=0 Stopped at usb_transfer_complete+0x96: cmpl $0,0x14(%eax) db> My initial thought was to try and set up a quirk but as you can see, I never get a name that I can enter into the quirk table. I tried the same reader out yesterday on a friends Windows 2000 machine and it just worked without a driver, so it seems to be a pretty standard umass device. Attached is the output of dmesg after I rebooted the machine. It contains the same error messages but without the panic at the end for some reason. Any help would be gratefully accepted. --8t9RHnE3ZwKMSgU+ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="dmesg.log" Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
