A few things. [1] You have both of your drives on the same IDE channel. This is not ideal, particularly when setting up a striped volume as you are. The reason is that the two drives on the same IDE channel can not be accessed at the same time. You want to have each drive on separate IDE channels, ie. both as masters. Your current configuration will not keep it from working but will hinder performance significantly. [2] You have to have the fstype field of partition 'e' set to '4.2BSD'. [3] You probably want to put your config into a file called '/etc/ccd.conf' so that your ccd0c volume can be started up at boot time via the /etc/rc script. Lastly, if you are using a recent version of FreeBSD, have a look at vinum. -- Glenn Johnson USDA, ARS, SRRC Phone: (504) 286-4252 New Orleans, LA 70124 e-mail: gjohnson@srrc.ars.usda.gov To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
