The problem was in kern_physio.c . Peter Dufault (dufault@hda.com) made the fix and John Dyson submitted it. Also I asked Peter to make a summary of the changes which need to be apply to the scsi code which affect scsi scanners. So far scanning with my scsi scanner UMAX is working really well over here.
