It was based on the implementation of getopt_long(3) from NetBSD and included PD or other BSD-licensed implementations of other functions in GNU LibIberty. Exactly two ports depend on it: textproc/freegrep and misc/freedialog. However, FreeBSD has had getopt_long(3) for some time and neither of these ports needs freelibiberty. So two PRs (147709 and 147710) remove those dependencies. As the library is not used by anything, I propose removing it. James - -- James P.
