>Description:
The machines hostname is

kinetic% hostname
kinetic.ki.informatik.uni-frankfurt.de

starting emacsserver from the emacs 19.34b package results in a socket

srw------- 1 marko wheel 0 Mar 6 16:49 esrv1001-kinetic.ki.informatik.uni-frankf@Ö¿ï??

being created. The garbage begins after position 32 of the hostname. I suspect there is some buffer that should have been declared MAXHOSTNAMELEN characters, but is not.
