SGML documents should use two spaces, because
1. They are being manipulated using tools that can make use of the extra
information that two spaces at the end of a sentence provide (e.g.,
emacs, fmt, et al).
2. The typesetting systems that we're using can make their own decisions
about the spacing at the end of sentences.
