Alas, Informix doesn't have a native FreeBSD port of their esql/c =
product. However, we recently went through a database selection process =
and our Informix sales guys managed to get approval for the port (just =
esql/c, not the entire database) to be done. We ultimately went with =
another database so I don't know the status of the port, but if they =
went ahead it would be nearing completion. (And if they didn't, I don't =
imagine it would be too difficult to get the project going again). I =
suggest contacting your friendly Informix sales rep and see what they =
can do for you.

Subject: Maybe someone here has a solution?

Most of our machines in this office run FreeBSD-3.x or 4.x and I need =
to write an application that selects certain info from an Informix =
database and displays the results in HTML. The Informix DB is on a SCO =
OpenServer 5.x boxen ...=20

  I can very easily use APACHE/Mod_Perl + ESQL/C to write this =
application ... but I can't find any info on using esql/c on a freebsd =
box or even something similar that I can use.

Anyone have any idea's or suggestions for th ebest solution?

  -thanks
  Rich
