I would prefer a layer 2 based approach ("EtherChannel") instead because of
the much better convergence in case of failure, and you also get load
sharing in both directions. Bundling two or more interfaces by means of
netgraph would probably serve the job.

Are there any off-the-shelf, i.e. native FEC solutions available?
