Some corrections:

I didn't need to listen or redirect on port 47 at all.

I just needed to pass out proto gre in addition to tcp/udp/icmp.

mpd-1.8 is available.  The examples show a way to specify multiple
clients without much cutting and pasting.

mpd-1.8 says it allows multiple clients behind one nat.
