It was an FTP upload.  A download consumed less CPU.

486 DX4-100.

With an 8 meg file upload, user CPU was less than 3%, while interrupt
CPU varied between 25% - 35% and system CPU varied between 25% - 35%.

Downloading the same file, total CPU was only 35%, with interrupt no
more than about 10%.
