	Yes... hands down.  FreeBSD also doesn't require quite the elaborate system
that Windows does in order to get good performance.

	In a word, nope.

	Depends on the model of hardware you have.  You'll want to check the
Hardware.Txt for the release you plan to install to make sure that your
hardware will work.

	As far as I know, yes.  You get the full source of everything used to run
the entire OS, and you can modify it to your heart's content as long as you
follow the rules of the BSD license.
