I've followed the instructions at: http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/bsd/2005/11/10/FreeBSD_Basics.html for = creating software RAID, which appears to have been successful. the raid = created, and synched, couple of reboots all is good. So I wanted to test it out, I've unplugged one of the drives and = rebooted, however, I've received the error: ffs_mountroot: can't find rootvp Root mount failed: 6 mountroot> It doesn't matter which disk I unplug, it gives the same result. I've = attempted to remount: ufs:/dev/mirror/gm0s1a ufs:/dev/ad6s1a ufs:/dev/ad4s1a no luck. so I looked over: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/geom-mirror.htm= l and added the 'options GEOM_MIRROR' to Kernel, then recompiled, = installed and restarted, the machine would hang completely just when = loading the AD drives. Are the articles missing any steps ? any help is appreciated. Thx, Tamouh Hakmi
