I have noticed a slightly similar problem. Only it does work after
bootup.

Everything worked fine for a while, then I started a:

	nice time make buildworld | tee /tmp/buildworld

on the console. It worked for some time, but now the console ouptut
is stuck on compiling chmod.c, while the make is still running
perfectly ok.
