I see you have three choices: 1) Put yourself there 2) Daniel realizes that in fact his port needed more work and that you just did him a big favor, and agrees to be the maintainer. 3) You add flo in the CC and ask if he will maintain it. I think you'd have a 50/50% chance of success with that. It doesn't hurt to ask.
