I'm finally in the process of building my ~10Gig 6x86 box.
A few months late, but no big deal... To avoid buying a
second modem, and until I am network-savvy enough, I want
to set up a parallel cable link between the two boxes.

I don't care if it is slow for the time being. 50k/sec is
plenty fast to allow rlogin and sharing of my ppp link to
the Real world.

dmesg finds the following on both platforms:

   lpt0 at 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa

What's next? What lines do I put into the configuration files
in /etc? And then, what kind of cable do I plug between lpt0
and lpt0? Since my new 6x86 platform is not part of the
larger net, can I assign my local IP designation? (Like 127.0.0.02)

I would be much obliged for any detailed help here, so thanks in
advance!

gary kline
