Splice stands accused of saying:

You need to use a _freshly_formatted_ floppy with _no_ bad sectors.
This message means that sector 4 on track 64 is unreadable.
(A more verbose message would reduce the already minimal space in
the boot code)

This may make trouble for you later, but if your disk reports the same
geometry as the BIOS uses, or you can determine the BIOS geometry,
you'll be fine.
