The demo probably needs to be heavily patched up; the 7500 support was 
originally only for the smaller screen.

I (ab)use my 7500 on a daily basis; I've been running it since before 
they officially supported the large screen (by hacking their configs 
directly).  

I don't use 24-bit mode though, since 16-bit mode is somewhat faster 
(xengine, a terrible benchmark, runs about twice as fast), but it does 
work just fine (I just tested it to be sure 8).
