I feel that there should be a markup tag so that you can avoid using
the formally-correct but confusing comma inside the quotes.
(personally, I feel that these rules should be ignored in writing
describing systems where the extra character would make a
difference, but I don't want to get into what diameter of polka dots
to put on the bikeshed).

Maybe ... <tt class="USERNAME">?
