If by cable you are on TV cable service that could be the problem. My neighbor had a terrible problem with getting internet on TV cable service. My internet was faster with ADSL on copper from the phone company. Problem was too many customers on the TV cable segment. Try Fiber Optic when it comes to your area. It is very fast and less expensive. > _______________________________________________ My original subject line is misleading. I'm not complaining about my Internet speed, per se. My cable provider offers various speeds, and I'm at their low-end, but not the bottom. My connection is about 16.25 Mbps download. They offer faster connections for more money. I have a Motorola SB6141, which can bond 8 channels, I believe. I wouldn't want to upgrade any components or service unless I can verify where it would make a difference. Motorola claims this cable modem can go to 343 Mbps, but I don't know if they're using the same measuring stick as the cable provider. There's usually something in marketing that's a lie. 8o) I WILL get Google Fiber (or any other) when it becomes available, if it's within my budget. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
