The problem started when I replaced a Trident Blade 3D (intermittently failing to start XWindows - driver messages, KB lamps flash and then blackness), ussually on hot days) with a new S3 Trio 3D 2X. Unfortunately the mouse cursor is now almost unusable (except for switching between windows and obliterating typing in a white window - when the cursor is over the window). The details are X version: XFree86 3.3.6 Driver XSVGA s3_virge Driver date Jan 8 2000 ! Video RAM 8 MB FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE The mouse works as far as clicking and moving goes but it is hard to click links on a web page. Thank you very much, Yours sincerely -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stanley Hopcroft Network Specialist ------------------------------------------------------------------------ '...No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...' from Meditation 17, J Donne.
