Oh, as David pointed out to me offline, /etc/rc.i386 explicitly modloads the screen savers. I can't do much about that folks, sorry. You'll need to update /etc/rc.i386 from /usr/src/etc/etc.i386/rc.i386. I would like to put a warning in modload that explictly prints a message to stderr saying that LKM's are depreciated and have been replaced by the kldload etc mechanism. I think it's important that if we ship the ability to load *old* a.out LKM's on an a.out kernel, then noise needs to be made or there will be messy accidents. What do folks think about making the LKM loading mechanism a kernel option and having it default to off..
